Not only Linking Tourism & Conservation is convinced that Nature-based tourism can and should play a major role for the protection of our global biodiversity. It is more and more common understandiung, in particular in UN-circles, where tourism in general is seen as potential supporter of all 17 Sustainable Developoment Goals. It is therefore valuable that the World Bank has been investing in nature as an asset that not only creates jobs to support economic development but promote environmental conservation. Their newly published report on “Tools and Resources for Natur-based Tourism” is a “comprehensive review of the tools, resources, institutions, and platforms available to help nature-based tourism practitioners, including World Bank staff, prepare and implement projects”. LT&C can only recommend to our members interested in developing projects or an own LT&C-Example to download these tools and ressources for their own use:
As the World Bank states, the compilation provides guidance for NBT practitioners at every stage of a project – from preparation to implementation and evaluation. Use it!
