Hello there,

my name is Eva and I am a passionate lecturer, an enthusiastic speaker, and a critical thinker. My main interests are rooted in socially sustainable tourism development, community-inclusive tourism development, participatory destination governance, and community resilience. However, I get easily enthused for other subjects related to sustainable tourism development. Currently, I teach and research as part of the Cultural Geography group at Wageningen University (NL).

Although I am originally from Germany, I have also been living, researching, and/or working in Sweden, Denmark, and now in the Netherlands. In the future, I want to broaden my horizon from a very European-focused perspective to a more holistic worldview that reflects the diversity of our planet. Although my geographer’s heart is interested in every country, region, and culture, I would particularly like to connect more with the Global South – more specifically with Sub-Sahara Africa and South-East Asia.

What I really appreciate about the Ö.T.E.–LT&C is its diverse, global network which is a colorful rainbow of cultures, professions, and passions. To me, the Ö.T.E.–LT&C is a very inclusive global tourism network, which aligns with my personal values and ethics. The projects and activities in which the Ö.T.E.–LT&C is involved are highly interesting and inspiring to me. Thus, I am very much looking forward to connecting with other penguins, supporting the Ö.T.E.–LT&C where needed, and exploring more opportunities to make the global tourism development more sustainable.
