In 2021, the eighth year LT&C is active worldwide, we were proud to announce having published more than 50 LT&C-Examples. By the end of the year, we had profiled globally 52 examples, where tourism is supporting the creation or further development of national parks and other types of protected areas. Those cases represent a wide spectrum of different financial, political or educational ways tourism can play a positive role in reaching the globally agreed biodiversity goals. They provide valuable blueprints for others to learn from and stimulate replication and multiplication.
